Danny Mangual, MD

About Dr. Mangual

Dr. Mangual was born in San Juan and raised in Carolina Puerto Rico. He obtained dual engineering degrees in Computer and Electrical Engineering. After that, he worked for almost 14 years in the field of aerospace and systems engineering with companies such as Hewlett Packard, Machines for Visions, Raytheon Missile Systems and ATK. He obtained a master’s degree from the University of Arizona in Systems Engineering.
He received his doctorate degree in medicine from the University of Puerto Rico Medical College. He completed his internship at the VA Caribbean Health as an Internal Medicine followed by his orthopedic residency at the University of Puerto Rico. He continued further training and obtained a reconstruction and trauma surgery at SSM Health in Wisconsin followed by a second fellowship in spine surgery at the Spine Institute of Louisiana. Dr. Mangual is board-eligible by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons.
He maintains participation in several associations including NASS, AAHKS, AAOS, OTA and others. He has published numerous articles and presented his work in different conferences. He currently participates in research with the Spine Institute of Louisiana, Ponce Medical School and several companies in the orthopedic industry.
Dr. Mangual enjoys music, traveling, powerlifting and weightlifting. and digital photography. Other hobbies include martial arts, beach, bicycling. He has one son, Lucas Mangual.
